I am a homeopathic physician from India who is building a new home here in America. Over the course of the last several years, I have found myself increasingly attracted to the business aspects of health care, issues of access and efficiency, and how to make health care more affordable as well as more accessible for the underserved. When I think about these issues I generally find myself comparing health care in the USA with health care in India, and I look forward to continuing to think comparatively as a student in your distinguished Master’s Degree Program in Healthcare Management at the University of XXXX. Your program is by far the finest in the city and we are established in Dallas as a result of my husband’s profession.

I feel strongly that, as a homeopathic doctor, I will have a lot of valuable things to contribute to your program and beyond as I continue to make progress professionally here in America. I have special training in a variety of important areas that will help me to excel in health care management in the future: Materica Medica and Homeopathic Philosophy, Anatomy, Physiology including Biochemistry, Homeopathic Pharmacy, Organon of Medicine and Homeopathic Philosophy, Pathology, Bacteriology & Parasitology, Forensic Medicine and Toxicology, Surgery including Ear, Nose and Throat, Eye Dental and Homeopathic Therapeutics, Obsterics and Gynecology including Hygiene & Therapeutics, and Medicine including Children Mental & Skin Diseases.

I have also acquired invaluable experience and the preparation and focus necessary to excel in your competitive program by working as a medical assistant; becoming increasingly familiar with the medical work environment, terminology, culture here in the USA. For one year I assisted an MS Ortho doctor by taking patient histories and managing medical records. I have become most proficient using software like MS Access and MS Excel to manage patient history and diagnosis.

I am looking forward to having the opportunity to turn my full attention to the issues of access and cost management; always with an eye on how to enhance the quality of healthcare, especially for the most vulnerable members of our community here in Dallas. I look forward to and celebrate the tendency of Americans to practice alternative as well as preventive medicine and I look forward to seeing progress made in the development of more inclusive policies for insurance companies that provide the insured with more options for health care.

I look forward to studying in the Operations Track of your program, and learning as much as I can about the economics of healthcare in the USA, providing me with inspiration and a platform for advocacy and participation in the formation of health care related policies. One of the crucial strengths that I bring to your program is my vast experience and advanced capability in everything having to do with IT, especially since I recently completed a course in C++ programming.

I am particularly impressed with the profile of the Director of your program, Dr. Forney Fleming and looking forward to studying from a world renowned master of cost control in health care.  I am also impressed with the profile of Professor XXXX and I especially look forward to attending his class on Healthcare Informatics.
